Let's take a tour, starting with the Pelican Post, your home base. . . .

This is the front of the Suite #1/Suite #2 house, facing 1st Street , just one short block from the beach. Like 150 steps. There's a little office with a library and tourist brochures inside the front door, and if you arrive late, you'll find a note on this door telling you your room number.

This is a view of the Pelican Post from the East, showing some of the parking (for the King room, and 4-7). To the left, as I took the picture, is Bridge Street, the Bradenton Beach Pier and Cafe, the Bridge Tender, and Sarasota Bay.

 courtyard

Here is another view of courtyard in front of the one-bedroom apts. and studios. It's a peaceful little spot to stretch out and forget about everything! And there is a grill available if you want to cook but stay out of the kitchen. The house you can see on the right of the photo is Suite #1, with parking in the carport.

This is the Cottage. It's to the left of the courtyard. You walk up the steps to the entry. It's all knotty-pine paneled, with the cozy feeling of a beach cottage with "character." The room in the front with all the windows is a sleeping porch. There's a queen size bed on this porch, and another queen size bed in the back bedroom, plus a twin bed in the living room area. (Downstairs is our little hideaway office where you're likely to find one of us for check-in.)

There's a nice little kitchen, a dining area big enough to seat 4-6, and a sofa, swivel rocker, and TV, in the living room. It's nice for families or groups of 3-5 people. (See Room photos for interior views.)

Check out the beach again! Pretty great, huh?

Now on to our Historic Old Town. . . .
