If you are coming south on Interstate 75 , exit either at Exit 220/42 or Exit 217/41. Exit 220/42 is Manatee Ave. (This map shows it as Exit 40, but don't believe it). Recommended - Exit 217/old 41, which is State Route 70, will become 53rd Avenue when in Bradenton. If you stay on this route for about 15 miles, it will finally make a 90 degree curve, and you'll be on 75th Street, after you go around the curve. A mile past the curve is a traffic light at the intersection of Cortez Rd. Make a LEFT turn on Cortez Rd (S.R. 684) and continue on it until you have crossed the bridge and are on Anna Maria Island. (About 5 miles from the 75th St. light.) (If you come across the Sunshine Skyway from St. Petersburg, on I-275, then take U.S. 41 to Cortez Road, S.R. 684, and continue west on Cortez Rd. to the foot of the bridge, where Cortez Rd. ends at the water.) (If you arrive at Sarasota/Bradenton airport, or from the south, on U.S. 41, continue 3 miles north of the airport, on U.S. 41, to Cortez Rd., where you will turn LEFT.) There's a traffic light at the foot of the bridge, at Gulf Drive. Make a LEFT on Gulf Drive, go 3 short blocks, and turn LEFT again onto 1st Street, North. The beach is on the right, and there is a Circle K convenience store on the south corner and a small directional sign to Pelican Post Motel. The street is only 2 blocks long, so you can't miss us. We're the second block.
