FAQ

Or, what you would ask us if we were talking on the phone. . .

How close are you to the beach?

We're 150 yds. (about the length of a football field) from the gorgeous beach of the Gulf of Mexico, down a little side street. This isn't very far, and our rates are less than half of what you'll pay for gulffront.

I'm sick of my car, and it would be a real vacation to not have to use it much. Are there restaurants close enough to the Pelican Post that we can walk to them?

How about this? At last count, there were 8 restaurants on Bridge Street and Gulf Drive, within a block in one direction or the other. And none of them are chain restaurants!

Do your rooms have kitchens? What do I need to bring?

Yes, all of our rooms and apartments have kitchens with a stove with an oven and 4 burners, a refrigerator, microwave, and a coffee maker, tea kettle, toaster, dishes, and pots and pans. You really only need to bring your bathing suit and shorts!

Do you provide daily maid service?

Our room and apartments are "housekeeping units" as most accomodations on the island are. We don't enter your room after you've moved in unless something needs to repaired. But we do exchange towels (or sheets), if and when you put you them on your chair outside your door in the mornings.

Do you have a pool?

No. We have considered it, but at the request of many of our "regulars" who like our nice, quiet atmosphere and peaceful yard, we have resisted the urge to put one in.

Do you have smoking and non-smoking rooms?

All rooms are non-smoking but you're welcome to smoke outside. Each room has chairs and a table (with an ashtray) just outside the door.

Do you allow pets?

No, we don't. Although we're sure your puppy is nice, it's just too hard to keep the rooms nice with other people's pets in them!

Are your rooms on the ground floor, or do we have to climb stairs?

The rooms are ground floor, old-Florida style, with parking on our property not far from the rooms. We have one unit, the Cottage, which is an older beach cottage built on the second story so you do have to climb stairs for it. But they're not steep steps and have a landing.
